In 2017 election of Nisikhola Rural Municipality (Baglung district), candidate Tara Nath Paudel of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,769 (38.37%) votes out of total votes of 7,217 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 2,058 (20.61%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,390 (16.56) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Shobha Kumari Karki of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,872 (44.61%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Yasodha Regmi of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,003 (21.51%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,563 (12.14) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 129 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 77 (59.69%) males and 52 (40.31%) females. Moreover, there were total 27 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 45 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 23 females and 23 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
