In 2017 election of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality (Chitwan district), candidate Geeta Kumari Gurung of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,254 (37.16%) votes out of total votes of 8,756 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Narayan Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 3,061 (25.49%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,441 (13.94) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kriti Kumar Shrestha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,389 (38.89%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Junu Raj Bhandari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,097 (25.59%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,229 (12.79) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 111 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 68 (61.26%) males and 43 (38.74%) females. Moreover, there were total 22 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 42 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 18 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
