In 2017 election of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality (Dhading district), candidate Binod Raj Timilsina of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,954 (49.37%) votes out of total votes of 12,060 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ram Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 5,930 (32.92%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 176 (0.73) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Januka Sinkhada of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,779 (53.32%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Bishnu Kumar Shrestha of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 4,894 (29.45%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 166 (0.77) of votes.

Moreover, there were total 35 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards.
