In 2017 election of Indrawati Rural Municipality (Sindhupalchok district), candidate Bansalal Tamang of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,365 (38.52%) votes out of total votes of 13,929 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Jhamka Nath Nepal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 5,165 (26.77%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,399 (12.20) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Mira Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,191 (37.65%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Saraswati Adhikari of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,079 (26.76%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,519 (12.76) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 229 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 143 (62.45%) males and 86 (37.55%) females. Moreover, there were total 48 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 12 wards. Same as, total 91 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 45 females and 37 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
