In 2017 election of Dhobini Rural Municipality (Parsa district), candidate Suresh Prasad Kurmi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,176 (28.47%) votes out of total votes of 7,644 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Sushila Devi of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) who secured 1,892 (19.27%) of votes. The rest of 8 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,576 (23.39) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Parasnath Prasad Kurmi of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,459 (32.85%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Manju Devi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,288 (23.01%) of votes and came in second position. Other 6 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,739 (18.29) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 155 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 93 (60.00%) males and 62 (40.00%) females. Moreover, there were total 32 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 54 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 26 females and 25 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
