In 2017 election of Khadak Municipality (Saptari district), candidate Hemayu Hak of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,128 (19.38%) votes out of total votes of 16,139 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Kiran Kumar Bhagat of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,994 (15.54%) of votes. The rest of 12 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 10,017 (31.03) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Yasmin Sultan Khatun of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,237 (20.56%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Kendula Kumari Devi Jha of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,767 (14.58%) of votes and came in second position. Other 9 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 9,740 (30.93) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 399 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 224 (56.14%) males and 175 (43.86%) females. Moreover, there were total 84 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 143 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 74 females and 73 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
