There were 38,970 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Morang District, Constituency No. 3. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Sabitri Kumar Kafle secured 15,863 (40.71%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Satya Narayan Bhagat Tharu of Nepali Congress Party who secured 12,626 (32.40%) votes and came in second position.
