There were 40,843 votes casted during 1999 House of Representatives elections in Dolakha District, Constituency No. 1. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Pashupati Chaulagain secured 20,243 (49.56%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Bhim Bahadur Tamang of Nepali Congress Party who secured 15,093 (36.95%) votes and came in second position.
