The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Tul Bahadur Gurung secured 22,377 (44.44%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Shukra Raj Sharma of Nepali Congress Party who secured 18,663 (37.06%) votes and came in second position.
